Back in town, back in the saddle

Whew. Well, our goals in Yosemite weren’t quite met because of the terrible weather. I didn’t get any running in, partly because of the altitude, and partly because of the open bar at the wedding I attended all day Saturday.

That said, played another soccer game tonight, so I’m back in the saddle again. Tomorrow morning is a 6-miler that I’m actually pretty psyched for. I feel well rested (if still jet-lagged and a little tired from the red-eye flight). Not too much to report other than that.  The game went pretty well tonight, even though we got tagged 3-1.

I have 16 wees until Disney.  The bigger problem now is that I need to lose 17 pounds between now and the marathon.  That weight loss is about two main goals: first is getting back to my high school and college soccer playing weight.  Second is that you can lose up to two seconds a mile for each pound you lose.  If I can come in 17 pounds lighter, that’s the 5 minutes I need for a sub-2:00 half marathon and will get me about 15 minutes in the marathon.

Oh, and it will get me healthier and thinner to boot, which my wife will like, I’m sure.
